What both platforms do

What both platforms do

What both platforms do

FieldHive and Tradify both help trade businesses manage customers, pricing, quotes, bookings and invoices. But they are built around different starting points.

FieldHive gives owner-managed trade businesses a focused mobile system for building reusable pricing, sending quotes, booking work and creating invoices. Tradify provides a broader job-management platform for businesses that need separate staff users, detailed job records, team scheduling, timesheets, online payments and accounting connections now.

Tradify currently has more total operational features. The important question is whether your business needs those wider tools today — or whether FieldHive gives you the structure you need without paying for a larger system.

The difference is not simply the size of the business. A company may have four tradespeople but still manage all its pricing, bookings and invoices through one owner. Another company of the same size may need every worker to receive jobs, update records and record their time through the system.

FieldHive: one connected admin flow

FieldHive: one connected admin flow

The customer is saved once. Pricing can be built once and reused. Bookings stay connected to the customer and quoted work. Invoices can continue from information already entered.

FieldHive currently operates through one main account. It can therefore suit a sole trader or a small business where the owner or administrator controls the pricing, bookings and paperwork.

A focused starting point when the main priority is getting pricing, quotes, bookings and invoices organised.

Tradify: a wider job-management structure

Tradify: a wider job-management structure

Tradify can capture enquiries, create quotes, schedule work to staff, maintain individual job records, record timesheets, track costs, process payments and pass financial information into accounting software.

That makes Tradify the stronger current fit when the software needs to manage each worker, job and cost separately. FieldHive offers a more focused starting point when the main priority is getting pricing, quotes, bookings and invoices organised.

Tradify's available tools vary between its Lite, Pro and Plus plans.

What FieldHive Gives You Today

What FieldHive Gives You Today

Build Your Pricing Once

Each catalogue item can hold more than a description and selling price — material cost, labour fit time, markup and the final customer price.

Items can be organised into folders, edited and reused across future quotes. An electrician could save a double socket installation; a plumber a replacement tap; a landscaper reusable pricing for fencing, paving or turf.

The next quote starts from pricing already worked out, keeping pricing consistent and making it clearer when costs, fitting times or margins need adjusting.

Quote Different Types of Work Properly

Not every job should be priced the same way. FieldHive supports fixed-price, time-and-materials and hourly-rate quotes.

Quotes can use saved catalogue items or manually entered work. Totals are calculated inside the app and the finished quote can be previewed as a PDF and sent to the customer.

AI Quote Rewrite helps improve the clarity of descriptions. It does not set prices, estimate jobs or make commercial decisions.

Keep Customer Records Together

Each customer record holds contact details, addresses, notes, quote history and invoice history.

When a customer returns, you can see what was previously quoted and invoiced without searching through old emails or folders. A small repair may later lead to a larger installation, or a landlord may ask for work at another property.

The history stays with the customer rather than being rebuilt each time.

Connect Quotes, Bookings and Invoices

A quote can move into a booking that stores the customer, work details, date and time. When the work is ready to invoice, the invoice can be created from the quote rather than typed out again.

Invoices can also be created manually and presented as simple, detailed, or materials-and-labour breakdowns, then recorded as paid or unpaid.

FieldHive does not process the payment, but it provides a clear record of which invoices remain outstanding.

Use Deposits and Progress Claims

FieldHive Business supports deposit invoices, progress claims and final invoicing.

A builder may request a deposit before purchasing materials; an electrician may invoice after first fix, second fix and completion; a landscaper may divide the work into preparation, installation and finishing.

The invoice structure can follow the way the work is actually delivered.

Start Without Paying

FieldHive Free costs £0 per month and includes up to five active quotes plus unlimited invoices, customers, catalogue items and bookings — with PDF documents, your company logo, CIS support, AI Quote Rewrite and 10 AI credits each month.

The limit is based on quotes that remain active, not an allowance of five per month. Once a quote is no longer active, it stops counting towards the limit.

Remove the Quote Limit Without Rebuilding

FieldHive Business costs £14.99 per month or £144 per year, adding unlimited quotes, deposit invoices, progress claims, availability indicators, automated quote and invoice reminders, 100 AI credits and removal of FieldHive branding.

Moving from Free to Business does not mean starting again — your customers, catalogue and previous quotes and invoices all remain in place.

Use the Full App on iPhone and Android

FieldHive is an installable mobile app designed around phone use rather than a reduced version of a desktop system. Create quotes, check bookings or issue invoices from the customer’s property, a site, the van, the merchant or home.

FieldHive is currently mobile-only and does not provide desktop or browser access.

Use UK Trade Support

CIS support is included from the free plan, alongside VAT and tax settings, hourly rates, currency and regional settings, company details, company logo and document branding.

FieldHive launched first for the UK market, although the product is not positioned as UK-only.

Where Tradify Goes Further

Separate Staff Users and Scheduling

Tradify allows work to be scheduled and assigned across staff and subcontractors, with staff calendars, job assignment, route planning, Google Calendar syncing, recurring jobs and staff-location visibility.

It also supports digital timesheets, letting staff and subcontractors record their working time from their devices.

FieldHive does not currently provide separate staff logins, individual engineer schedules or staff timesheets.

Dedicated Job Records

Tradify maintains a central record for each job. Depending on the plan, it can keep customer information, work details, notes, photos, videos, documents, appointments, staff assignments, job statuses, timesheets, and costs and bills.

It also provides job dashboards, maps and reporting tools for tracking active work.

FieldHive connects customers, quotes, bookings and invoices but does not yet provide that same level of detailed job-card management.

Wider Quoting and Job Templates

Tradify provides price lists, markups and quote templates, plus quote options, online acceptance, customer signatures, automatic reminders, email and text follow-ups, imported supplier price lists and Kit bundles on Plus.

Tradify quotes can be converted into jobs or invoices and shared with the wider team.

FieldHive’s current advantage is that material cost, labour fit time, markup and customer price are held together in reusable catalogue items from the Free plan.

Job Costing and Purchasing

Tradify Pro includes costing and bill tracking. Tradify Plus adds purchase orders, job tasks, bulk invoicing, Kit bundles, staff activity history, reporting and AI-assisted bill capture.

It can also import supplier price lists and use them across quotes, jobs, invoices, bills and purchase orders.

FieldHive does not currently provide purchase orders, supplier bill importing or complete actual job-cost reporting.

Online Payments

Tradify allows businesses to accept card payments through invoices, with online and onsite payments, automated payment reminders, payment recording, digital receipts and invoice-view tracking.

Tradify publishes separate card-processing charges based on the card type used.

FieldHive tracks paid and unpaid invoice status but does not process customer payments.

Accounting Connections

Tradify connects with Xero, Sage and QuickBooks Online, passing information such as customers, suppliers, invoices, bills and payments between systems.

FieldHive does not currently provide accounting integrations.

Desktop and Mobile Access

Tradify is available through desktop, tablet, iPhone and Android — suited to businesses where office staff work from computers while tradespeople use the mobile app onsite.

FieldHive currently provides the main product through its iPhone and Android apps.

FieldHive takes a more gradual approach

FieldHive takes a more gradual approach

The current product begins with customers, pricing, quotes, bookings and invoices.

As the workload increases, FieldHive Business removes the active-quote limit and adds deposits, progress claims, availability indicators and automated reminders. The aim is to let the business introduce more structure without paying for a full team-management platform before that wider setup is useful.

Separate staff accounts and detailed team operations are not currently available, so a business that already needs those tools should take that into account.

FieldHive may fit an owner-managed trade business

Imagine an electrical business with four people: the owner, two electricians and one apprentice. The owner handles the customer records, pricing, quotes, bookings and invoices.

The electricians complete the work but do not need separate accounts or schedules inside the software. FieldHive can manage the main admin through one account.

Now imagine each electrician needs to log in separately, view their schedule, receive assigned jobs, access a job record, add notes and photos, record their time, update the job status and share information with the office.

The office also needs to manage enquiries, plan routes, track job costs, schedule subcontractors, raise purchase orders, take card payments and sync invoices into accounting software.

Tradify already provides that structure

  • Separate logins and individual schedules

  • Assigned jobs and detailed job records

  • Notes, photos and status updates

  • Timesheets and job costing

  • Subcontractor scheduling and purchase orders

  • Card payments and accounting sync
