The problem

Every timesheet template stops at payroll

The timesheet templates that rank are from payroll and HR software — they track hours to run the wages and nothing else. None of them ties the hours to a job or shows what that labour cost.

For a trade, the hours are only useful if you can see which job they were on and what they cost. This timesheet does both — it's still a simple weekly sheet, but it feeds job costing.

A trade timesheet, not a payroll form.
The wedge

Allocate the hours to a job and see the cost

Put the week's hours against a job or project and enter an hourly rate, and the tool shows the total hours and the labour cost for that job in one line.

That's the number you need to know whether a job made money — the same figure the true-labour-cost calculator builds up per hour.

The maths

Hours and pay, worked out for you

Enter each day as a start time, a finish time and a break in minutes, and the tool totals the hours — handling breaks and converting to decimal so 8 hours 30 reads as 8.5.

Add a rate and it multiplies out to the week's pay. Nothing to add up by hand, nothing to get wrong.

What goes on it

Everything a trade timesheet needs

Not an app

A document, not time-tracking software

Time-tracking software

Runs in the background, needs everyone signed in, stores clock-ins on a server, costs per seat.

This timesheet

A document you fill in and download — no accounts, no logins, saved in your browser. Print it, sign it, keep it with the job.

Sometimes a signed sheet beats another app to install.
Honest limits

Keep your records — this helps you make them

A signed timesheet is the record of hours worked; keep them with your pay and job records (UK employers generally keep payroll records for several years). This tool makes the sheet — it doesn't run payroll, deduct tax or store the data.

One sheet covers one worker's week; for a crew, download the editable Word template and reuse it per person. It's a document aid, not payroll or tax advice.
