Platform Comparison
FieldHive vs Powered Now
FieldHive and Powered Now both help UK trade businesses manage customers, quotes, bookings and invoices. But they start from different places.
FieldHive gives owner-managed trade businesses a focused mobile system for building reusable pricing, sending quotes, booking work and creating invoices. Powered Now provides a broader trade-management platform covering jobs, staff, certificates, supplier costs, payments, accounting and Making Tax Digital.
Powered Now currently covers more of the wider operational and financial workflow. The important question is whether your business needs those additional tools today — or whether FieldHive provides the structure you need without introducing a larger system.
Powered Now
One person handles the main admin and you want a straightforward system for:
Customers
Reusable pricing with material costs and labour fit times
Fixed-price, hourly and time-and-materials quotes
Bookings
Invoices
Deposits and progress claims
Paid and unpaid invoice tracking
CIS support
Full mobile access on iPhone and Android
A focused option for getting pricing, quotes, bookings and invoices organised.
You need a broader system covering areas such as:
Detailed job records
Supplier invoices and purchase orders
Expense tracking
Making Tax Digital
Forms and certificates
Separate staff users
Staff scheduling and location tracking
Timesheets
Online payments
Customer portals
Xero integration
Desktop and offline access
The customer is saved once. Pricing can be built once and reused. Bookings stay connected to the customer and quoted work. Invoices can continue from information already entered.
FieldHive currently operates through one main account. It can suit a sole trader or a small business where the owner or administrator controls the pricing, bookings and paperwork.
A focused starting point when the immediate priority is consistent pricing and the main customer-to-invoice workflow.
Powered Now’s plans can cover quoting, invoicing, customer management, detailed jobs, expenses, supplier invoices, purchase orders, job sheets, staff management, digital certificates, payments and tax reporting. The available functions depend on whether the business chooses Business, Professional or Premium.
That makes Powered Now the stronger current fit when the business wants more of its jobs, team, compliance and finances handled through one platform. FieldHive offers a more focused starting point when the immediate priority is building consistent pricing and keeping the main customer-to-invoice workflow organised.
Build Your Pricing Once
Each catalogue item can hold material cost, labour fit time, markup and the final customer price — not just a description and selling price.
Items can be organised into folders, edited and reused across future quotes, so the next quote starts from pricing already worked out. That keeps pricing consistent and makes it clearer when costs, fitting times or margins need adjusting.
Quote Different Types of Work Properly
Not every job should be priced the same way. FieldHive supports fixed-price, time-and-materials and hourly-rate quotes.
Quotes can use saved catalogue items or manually entered work. Totals are calculated inside the app and the finished quote can be previewed as a PDF and sent to the customer.
AI Quote Rewrite helps improve the clarity of descriptions. It does not set prices or make commercial decisions.
Keep Customer Records Together
Each customer record holds contact details, addresses, notes, quote history and invoice history.
When a customer returns, you can see what was previously quoted and invoiced without searching through old emails or folders. The history stays with the customer rather than being rebuilt each time.
Connect Quotes, Bookings and Invoices
A quote can move into a booking that stores the customer, work details, date and time. When the work is ready to invoice, the invoice can be created from the quote rather than typed out again.
Invoices can be presented as simple, detailed or materials-and-labour breakdowns, then recorded as paid or unpaid — giving a clear record of what remains outstanding.
Use Deposits and Progress Claims
FieldHive Business supports deposit invoices, progress claims and final invoicing.
A builder may request a deposit before ordering materials; an electrician may invoice after first fix, second fix and completion; a landscaper may split preparation, installation and finishing. The invoicing can follow how the work is delivered.
Start Without Paying
FieldHive Free costs £0 per month and includes up to five active quotes plus unlimited invoices, customers, catalogue items and bookings — with PDF documents, your company logo, CIS support, AI Quote Rewrite and 10 AI credits each month.
The limit applies to quotes that remain active, not an allowance of five per month. Once a quote is no longer active, it stops counting towards the limit.
Remove the Quote Limit Without Rebuilding
FieldHive Business costs £14.99 per month or £144 per year, adding unlimited quotes, deposit invoices, progress claims, availability indicators, automated reminders, 100 AI credits and removal of FieldHive branding.
Moving to Business does not mean starting again — your customers, catalogue and previous quotes and invoices all remain in place.
Use the Full App on iPhone and Android
FieldHive is an installable mobile app for iPhone and Android, designed around phone use. Create quotes, check bookings and issue invoices from the customer’s property, a site, the van, the merchant or home.
FieldHive is currently mobile-only and does not provide desktop or browser access.
Use UK Trade Support
CIS support is included from the free plan, alongside VAT and tax settings, hourly rates, currency and regional settings, company details, company logo and document branding.
FieldHive launched first for the UK market, although the product is not positioned as UK-only.
Detailed Jobs and Projects
Powered Now organises information around individual jobs and projects — job details, notes, attachments, job sheets, before-and-after photos, appointments, purchase orders, supplier invoices and larger or multi-stage projects.
This gives the office and field team a fuller record of what has happened on each piece of work.
FieldHive connects customers, quotes, bookings and invoices but does not yet provide the same depth of dedicated job or project management.
Supplier Invoices, Expenses and Purchase Orders
Powered Now Business includes supplier invoices, purchase orders and expense tracking, letting businesses record more of the costs surrounding their work rather than only the customer-facing quote and invoice. Making Tax Digital compliance is listed within the Business plan.
FieldHive lets users store material costs inside catalogue items, but it does not currently manage purchase orders, supplier invoices or business expenses.
Product Catalogue and Reusable Pricing
Powered Now provides a product catalogue on Professional and Premium, with description, cost price, percentage or fixed markup, selling price, category, SKU, tax rate and product link. Items can be reused across quotes, invoices and supplier documents.
FieldHive includes unlimited catalogue items from its Free plan and adds labour fit time directly to each reusable item, making material cost, labour fit time and markup central to its starting workflow.
Forms and Trade Certificates
Powered Now Professional includes digital forms and certificates covering gas safety, electrical installation, EICRs, EV charging, PAT testing, emergency lighting, fire alarms, renewable energy, risk assessments, waste documentation and custom questionnaires. Forms can include business details, engineer and customer signatures, photographs and previous certificate information.
This is a significant difference for regulated trades wanting job management and compliance paperwork in the same platform. FieldHive does not currently provide digital trade certificates.
Team Access and Staff Management
Powered Now Professional allows businesses to add team members, with staff scheduling, staff-location tracking, time tracking, team chat, sickness and holiday records, job routing and shared job information. Premium adds a drag-and-drop scheduling view.
FieldHive currently operates through one main account and does not provide separate staff logins, individual engineer schedules or staff time tracking.
Customer Portal and Automated Chasing
Powered Now Premium includes a customer portal for accessing documents and wider job information, plus automated quote and invoice chasing, appointment reminders, two-way project communication, drawings and annotations, and AI-assisted text.
FieldHive Business includes automated quote and invoice reminders, but does not currently provide a customer portal or two-way project messaging.
Making Tax Digital, VAT and CIS
Powered Now places more emphasis on the wider tax and accounting workflow. Its plans include Making Tax Digital support, while Professional adds VAT-return submission and Xero integration. It also supports CIS for contractors and subcontractors, including deductions and reporting.
FieldHive also supports CIS, including on its Free plan, but does not currently offer Making Tax Digital submissions, VAT-return filing or accounting integration.
Desktop, Mobile and Offline Working
Powered Now is available on PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad and Android, and its mobile app can continue working without an internet connection — updating jobs, adding notes and photos, completing forms, tracking time and preparing quotes or invoices, syncing once reconnected.
FieldHive provides its main app on iPhone and Android but does not offer desktop or offline working.

Plan | Monthly | Annual |
|---|---|---|
Business | £28 | £280 |
Professional | £32 per user | £320 per user |
Premium | £40 per user | £400 per user |
Business suits sole traders (quoting, invoicing, jobs, expenses, MTD, supplier invoices, purchase orders). Professional adds forms and certificates, VAT-return submission, Xero, staff access and tracking. Premium adds the customer portal, automated chasing, drag-and-drop scheduling and AI text.
The current product begins with customers, pricing, quotes, bookings and invoices.
As the workload increases, FieldHive Business removes the active-quote limit and adds deposits, progress claims, availability indicators and automated reminders. The aim is to give useful structure without requiring supplier accounting, team tracking and compliance tools before they are needed.
Powered Now already provides a broad range of job, staff, compliance and financial-management functions.
A sole trader can begin with its Business plan, while Professional and Premium add team access, certificates, location tracking, customer communication and wider scheduling.

FIELDHIVE APPROACH
Imagine an electrical business with four people: the owner, two electricians and one apprentice. The owner handles customer records, pricing, quotes, bookings, invoices and payment-status checks.
The electricians complete the work but do not need separate accounts or individual schedules inside the system. FieldHive can manage the main admin through one account.
Powered Now approach
Now imagine the business also needs to create electrical or gas certificates, raise purchase orders, record supplier invoices, track business expenses, submit VAT information, work offline on sites with poor signal, use a computer in the office and take customer payments.
It may also need to manage individual staff, track engineer time and location, and give customers access to documents. Powered Now already provides more of that structure, depending on the selected plan.
