What both platforms do

What both platforms do

What both platforms do

FieldHive and Workever both help trade and field service businesses manage customers, quotes, bookings and invoices. But they are built around different levels of operational control.

FieldHive gives owner-managed trade businesses a focused mobile system for building reusable pricing, sending quotes, booking work and creating invoices. Workever provides a broader field-service platform for businesses that need separate users, team scheduling, detailed job records, timesheets, forms, assets and customer self-service now.

Workever currently has more total operational features. The important question is whether your business needs those wider tools today — or whether FieldHive gives you the structure you need without introducing a larger team-management system.

The difference is not simply how many people work in the business. A company may have several tradespeople while one owner still manages all the pricing, bookings and paperwork. Another company of the same size may need each worker to receive jobs, update records, capture site information and record their time through the system.

Customer → Quote → Booking → Invoice → Paid or Unpaid

FieldHive: one connected admin flow

FieldHive: one connected admin flow

The customer is saved once. Pricing can be built once and reused. Bookings remain connected to the customer and quoted work. Invoices can continue from information already entered.

FieldHive currently operates through one main account. It can therefore suit a sole trader or a small business where the owner or administrator controls the pricing, bookings and paperwork.

A focused starting point when the immediate priority is consistent pricing and the main customer-to-invoice workflow.

Workever: a broader job and field-service structure

Workever: a broader job and field-service structure

Workever allows businesses to create and assign jobs, organise team schedules, maintain detailed job records, track fieldworker activity and manage information from both desktop and mobile devices. It also supports recurring jobs, custom job statuses, job templates and files attached to the work.

That makes Workever the stronger current fit when the software needs to organise each worker and job separately. FieldHive offers a more focused starting point when the immediate priority is building consistent pricing and keeping the main customer-to-invoice workflow organised.

What FieldHive Gives You Today

What FieldHive Gives You Today

Build Your Pricing Once

Each catalogue item can hold material cost, labour fit time, markup and the final customer price — not just a description and selling price.

Items can be organised into folders, edited and reused across future quotes, so the next quote starts from pricing already worked out. That keeps pricing consistent and makes it clearer when costs, fitting times or margins need adjusting.

Quote Different Types of Work Properly

Not every job should be priced the same way. FieldHive supports fixed-price, time-and-materials and hourly-rate quotes.

Quotes can use saved catalogue items or manually entered work. Totals are calculated inside the app and the finished quote can be previewed as a PDF and sent to the customer.

AI Quote Rewrite helps improve the clarity of descriptions. It does not set prices or make commercial decisions.

Keep Customer Records Together

Each customer record holds contact details, addresses, notes, quote history and invoice history.

When a customer returns, you can see what was previously quoted and invoiced without searching through old emails or folders. The history stays with the customer rather than being rebuilt each time.

Connect Quotes, Bookings and Invoices

A quote can move into a booking that stores the customer, work details, date and time. When the work is ready to invoice, the invoice can be created from the quote rather than typed out again.

Invoices can be presented as simple, detailed or materials-and-labour breakdowns, then recorded as paid or unpaid — giving a clear record of what remains outstanding.

Use Deposits and Progress Claims

FieldHive Business supports deposit invoices, progress claims and final invoicing.

A builder may request a deposit before ordering materials; an electrician may invoice after first fix, second fix and completion; a landscaper may split preparation, installation and finishing. The invoicing can follow how the work is delivered.

Start Without Paying

FieldHive Free costs £0 per month and includes up to five active quotes plus unlimited invoices, customers, catalogue items and bookings — with PDF documents, your company logo, CIS support, AI Quote Rewrite and 10 AI credits each month.

The limit applies to quotes that remain active, not an allowance of five per month. Once a quote is no longer active, it stops counting towards the limit.

Remove the Quote Limit Without Rebuilding

FieldHive Business costs £14.99 per month or £144 per year, adding unlimited quotes, deposit invoices, progress claims, availability indicators, automated reminders, 100 AI credits and removal of FieldHive branding.

Moving to Business does not mean starting again — your customers, catalogue and previous quotes and invoices all remain in place.

Use the Full App on iPhone and Android

FieldHive is an installable mobile app for iPhone and Android, designed around phone use. Create quotes, check bookings and issue invoices from the customer’s property, a site, the van, the merchant or home.

FieldHive is currently mobile-only and does not provide desktop or browser access.

Use UK Trade Support

CIS support is included from the free plan, alongside VAT and tax settings, hourly rates, currency and regional settings, company details, company logo and document branding.

FieldHive launched first for the UK market, although the product is not positioned as UK-only.

Separate Users and Team Scheduling

Workever allows businesses to create users for office administrators and mobile fieldworkers, and one licence can give the same person access to both the desktop system and fieldworker app.

Its scheduling includes drag-and-drop scheduling, timeline/day/week views, team management, GPS and map views, business hours and events, job filtering and individual job assignment — across Base and Ultimate.

FieldHive does not currently provide separate staff logins, individual engineer schedules or team dispatch.

Detailed Job Records

Workever gives each job a fuller operational record with custom job statuses, custom fields, job templates, notes, files, images, all-day bookings, job reports and recurring jobs.

It is designed to keep the office and field team updated as work is assigned and completed.

FieldHive connects customers, quotes, bookings and invoices but does not yet provide the same depth of individual job management.

Fieldworker Tracking and Offline Access

Workever provides iOS and Android fieldworker apps with offline working, job status updates, time tracking, photos, notes, documents, customer signatures and quotes and invoices from the field. Ultimate adds staff permissions, mobile timesheets, expenses, form filling and a manager’s app.

FieldHive provides its full current workflow on iPhone and Android but does not currently support offline work, individual fieldworker accounts or staff time tracking.

Recurring Jobs and Service Contracts

Workever supports recurring jobs across its plans, so repeated work can be created on a regular schedule rather than rebuilt manually. Ultimate adds service contracts that can automatically generate the work attached to them — suited to annual servicing, planned maintenance, routine inspections, regular cleaning, asset servicing and repeat site visits.

FieldHive currently supports individual bookings but does not offer recurring-job automation or service contracts.

Forms, Assets and Stock

Workever Ultimate adds a forms library, custom form building, pre-populated form data, mobile form completion, asset registers, asset history, assets linked to customers and jobs, stock management and purchase orders. Assets and service contracts can be used together to organise repeated maintenance.

FieldHive does not currently provide forms, asset management, stock control or purchase orders.

Customer Portal

Workever Ultimate includes a customer self-service portal where, depending on permissions, customers can request a quote or job, view and accept or reject quotes, view job information and invoices, make payments when Stripe is enabled, and send and receive messages connected to jobs, quotes and invoices.

FieldHive keeps customer records and document history inside the business account but does not provide customers with their own portal.

Payments and Accounting Connections

Workever supports payment recording across its plans, with Stripe card payments as an add-on and customer self-payment links and deposits in its more advanced feature set. It also offers Xero and QuickBooks connections for syncing contacts, invoices and payments, plus calendar syncing and team chat as add-ons.

FieldHive currently records paid and unpaid invoice status but does not process payments or connect to accounting software.

Desktop and Mobile Access

Workever is web-based for office users and provides mobile field apps for iPhone and Android, so office staff can work through the desktop system while fieldworkers receive and update jobs through their phones.

FieldHive currently provides its main product through its iPhone and Android apps.

FieldHive takes a more gradual approach

FieldHive takes a more gradual approach

The current product begins with customers, pricing, quotes, bookings and invoices.

As the workload increases, FieldHive Business removes the active-quote limit and adds deposits, progress claims, availability indicators and automated reminders. The aim is to give useful structure without setting up full fieldworker, stock and asset-management processes before they are needed.

Separate staff accounts and full team operations are not currently available, so a business that already requires those tools should take that into account.

Workever already offers the wider toolset

Workever already provides a broad range of staff, job and service-management functions.

A business that needs separate users, individual schedules, recurring jobs, forms, assets, stock and customer access can select those tools now.

Its subscription is charged per user, with Ultimate adding the more advanced operational functions.

It may suit you when

  • One person controls the quoting and invoicing

  • Reusable pricing based on material costs and fit times matters

  • You want to start without paying

  • You mainly manage the business from your phone

  • You need CIS support

  • You want deposits and progress claims

  • Other workers do not need separate access

  • You do not need asset or stock management

  • You want a focused system at a lower starting price

FIELDHIVE APPROACH

FieldHive may fit an owner-managed trade business

FieldHive may fit an owner-managed trade business

FieldHive may fit an owner-managed trade business

Imagine an electrical business with four people: the owner, two electricians and one apprentice. The owner handles customer records, pricing, quotes, bookings, invoices and payment-status checks.

The electricians carry out the work but do not need separate software accounts or individual schedules. FieldHive can manage the main admin through one account.

Now imagine each electrician needs to log in separately, view an individual schedule, receive assigned jobs, open a detailed job record, add notes and photographs, collect customer signatures, record working time, update the job status and work when the signal is poor.

The office also needs to see the whole team schedule, track workers and jobs on a map, manage recurring visits, build forms, track customer assets, issue purchase orders, share information through a customer portal and connect invoices to accounting software.

Workever already provides that structure

  • Separate office and field users with individual schedules

  • Job assignment, GPS and map views

  • Detailed job records and recurring jobs

  • Offline field access and staff time tracking

  • Forms, signatures, assets and stock

  • Customer self-service and accounting connections
