Every card has the same four parts: who it suits, the published price, what it does for you, and one watch-out.
1
FieldHive
Suits: Sole-trader roofers and owner-run roofing firms of up to about 3 people, where you do the quoting, booking and invoicing.
Published price
Free plan · Business £14.99 a month or £144 a year, one price for the whole business.
- Save your tiles, membrane, battens and labour times as catalogue items, unlimited on the free plan. The next roof quote takes a few taps, not a fresh sum.
- Quote fixed-price, by the hour, or time and materials, and send a revised quote when the customer changes the job. PDF quotes and invoices carry your logo.
- Deposit invoices before you order materials, and progress claims on bigger roofs, on Business.
- Xero and QuickBooks sync with CIS, Stripe card payments and a customer portal, all on the free plan.
Watch-out: One login, for the person who runs the admin: staff don’t get their own accounts, job lists or timesheets. And FieldHive doesn’t measure roofs from satellite images; you measure the roof and enter the figures. If every roofer needs a login, Tradify or ServiceM8 suit you better; to estimate from drawings, Buildxact.
Start freeFree plan, no card needed. £14.99 a month flat for the whole business when you need more.
2
ServiceM8
Suits: Service and call-out businesses on short jobs, such as roof repairs, priced by monthly job count rather than people.
Published price
Free for 1 user and 30 jobs a month · paid plans £25 to £269 a month by job volume, unlimited users.
- Unlimited users on paid plans. Add staff without adding seats.
- Xero and QuickBooks on every plan, including free.
Watch-out: Priced by how many jobs you do a month. A busy spell of repair call-outs can pass the free plan’s 30 quickly, and a busy month can push you onto the next plan.
3

4
